Dr Jane Bryan wins two National Mediation Awards & Principal Fellowship

Dr Jane Bryan has won two National Mediation Awards. She was nominated for The Newcomer of the Year Award and the Innovation Award due to her work founding and leading Warwick Mediation, a peer mediation service for staff and students at Warwick.

The National Mediation Awards 2022Link opens in a new window are the first truly pan-sector mediation awards in England and Wales. As a collaboration between the Civil Mediation Council, Family Mediation Council and College of Mediators, this prestigious ceremony has been organised to celebrate excellence amongst commercial, civil, family and community mediators, mediation trainers and providers.

Winners were announced at an awards ceremony hosted by BBC newsreader and presenter Joanna Gosling, held at the prestigious Members’ Dining Room at the House of Commons on Thursday 8 December 2022. The ceremony was live-streamed to a worldwide audience.

Jonathan Lux (a hugely respected barrister and mediator) said when presenting the Innovation Award that 'As mediation is all about innovation, the Innovation Award is the Award of Awards.'

Congratulations Jane, these awards are well deserved.

In other news, Jane has also achieved Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA). It is the highest award given by the HEA and is typically applied for by highly experienced and senior staff, in academic or academic-related positions, with strategic leadership responsibilities. These may be staff who hold responsibility for strategic leadership and policymaking in teaching and learning in their institution, or even beyond in wider national and international settings. Hear from Jane and others about their experience of gaining PFHEA and see how you could begin - or continue - your fellowship journey.

If any staff member is interested in HEA fellowship, there are mentors available and a really supportive team at ADC.
