WLS Research Fellows attend the Royal Society Event for British Academy Fellows from Ukraine
On the 15th of February 2023, the Royal Society hosted an event for British Academy Fellows from Ukraine, which was attended by fellows from the WLS research team – Dr Aisel Omarova and Dr Maryna Utkina.
The event provided an opportunity for the British Academy Fellows to showcase their work and discuss their research interests with colleagues and peers from a variety of academic disciplines. The event was also a chance to explore potential opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
Dr Aisel Omarova was a panellist in the British Academy event in progress session “Social Sciences”. She shared her research about protecting homeless and neglected children in Ukraine and proposed measures to combat this problem.
Dr Maryna Utkina conducts her research on the issues of financial monitoring as an essential process for detecting, preventing, and investigating financial crimes and the possibility of improving the accuracy, efficiency, and speed of financial crime detection and prevention.
The WLS research fellows expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to engage with colleagues and learn more about the exciting research. They highlighted the importance of international collaboration and exchange in advancing study and expressed their hope that the event would lead to further opportunities for cooperation and partnership in the future.
