The editors of the Journal of Consumer PolicyLink opens in a new window (JCP) held their annual meeting (the first in-person meeting since 2019) at Warwick Law School on 21 AprilJournal of Consumer Policy 2023. Editors discussed current submissions and plans for forthcoming issues, as well as socialising and sightseeing in Coventry and its surrounding towns.

The JCP, now in its 46th year, is an interdisciplinary journal published by Springer Nature. It focuses on a broad range of disciplinary perspectives on the development of consumer policy at national, supra-national and global levels. In particular, it publishes papers from economics, behavioural sciences and law, always with a focus on the consumer policy implications discussed in contributions to the journal. All original papers go through a stringent double-blind peer review process before being considered for publication. Founded in 1977, its current editors are Alan Mathios (Cornell University, US), Lucia A. Reisch (Cambridge University, UK), John Thøgersen, Hans W. Micklitz (European University Institute, Florence) and Christian Twigg-Flesner (Warwick Law School).

Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner, one of the editors in charge of law submissions, said “It was great for the team to be in the same room together for the first time in 4 years. The Journal of Consumer Policy is going from strength-to-strength, evidenced by the high quality of our published articles and continuously improving metrics. As a truly interdisciplinary journal, the JCP has led the field for many decades now. As a legal scholar at Warwick, the strong contextual ethos of the JCP is particularly important to me.”

The editors of the JCP are always keen to receive original high-quality papers on any aspect of consumer law or policy from any relevant discipline. Submission guidelines are available hereLink opens in a new window.
