Warwick Law School celebrates outstanding PTES 2025 results

We are thrilled to announce that Warwick Law School has once again achieved outstanding results in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2025, with particularly high levels of student satisfaction across all areas of the survey.

We are especially pleased to report an overall satisfaction rate of 95%, continuing our upward trajectory and reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering an excellent student experience.

The PTES is a national annual survey of postgraduate taught students. It gathers student feedback on a wide range of topics including teaching quality, support, engagement, and overall experience. This year, the Law School received responses from 62 students.

Highlights from this year’s results:

  • Teaching and Learning: 95% of students agreed that teaching staff are good at explaining things and that the course has enhanced their academic abilities.
  • Organisation and Management: 91% of students agreed that their course was well organised and that changes were communicated effectively.
  • Skills Development: 92% of students agreed their research skills and ability to communicate effectively have developed through the course.
  • Support: 95% of students agreed that academic support met their needs.
  • Learning Resources: 96% of students were satisfied with the learning resources provided.
  • Engagement: 92% of students agreed they were encouraged to ask questions or make contributions in taught sessions.

We are particularly proud of the significant progress made in areas we had identified for enhancement last year, namely community building and assessment and feedback:

  • Community: 86% of students reported feeling part of a postgraduate community, reflecting our efforts to foster stronger connections and peer engagement (+12% from 2024 results).
  • Assessment and Feedback: 94% of students agreed that feedback on their work was useful and provided in a timely manner (+10% from 2024 results).

In response to the results, Head of School, Professor Andrew Williams has said:

“Once again, the PTES results have shown what an excellent learning environment has been created across our LLMs. Congratulations to all those students and staff members who have worked hard together to make this happen.”

Dr Kathryn McMahon, Director of Postgraduate Taught Studies for 2024-2025 commented:

"We are delighted with the outstanding PTES student survey results for 2024-25. It is the culmination of the efforts of our dedicated LLM team: academic colleagues, course directors, student experience team & professional support staff."

While we celebrate these results, we also remain committed to continuous improvement. Over the coming year, we will continue working in partnership with our students to further enhance the sense of community within the Law School and ensure we maintain the highest standards in all areas of postgraduate education.

We would like to thank all our postgraduate students who took the time to complete the survey. Your feedback continues to drive our progress and shape the future of postgraduate education at Warwick Law School.
