Dr Illan Wall gave a closing keynote address to the 2019 Law and Society Association Conference collaborative research network on International Law and Politics in Washington DC on Saturday 1 June 2019.

He spoke about how sovereignty shores itself up through events and sites which install positive affects among the populace. The work uses recent ideas about the way affective atmospheres change people’s capacity to act, to look again at how sovereignty is performed.
