At the end of January, the second Fair Chance for Education Project impact event was hosted by Bhagat Phool Singh Women’ s University, led by Dr Manju Panwar, a member of the FCF Project’s Consultative Group. The international online workshop ‘A Fair Chance to Access Higher Education: Collaborative Workshop to develop an Outreach Activity Resource’ brought together field experts and three Indian government college principals who piloted the FCF Outreach Activity Resource (forthcoming).
The virtual event was highly successful and attended by 70 participants. The FCF Team was particularly delighted to hear about the great success of the piloting of the Outreach Activity Resource which took place in three colleges in Haryana, which led to over 1000 school students some accompanied by their families taking part in the outreach activities organised by the colleges.

FCF Project Team Members Present at Queen’s University Belfast Workshop
This workshop was attended by 30 participants interested in widening participation in Law Schools in the UK and Ireland. It was the first formal event for this exciting new network. The speakers provided rich and diverse understandings of the way in which widening participation is undertaken which led to stimulating and thought provoking discussions. Ann and Nidhi’s presentation, based upon the project findings, provided an Indian perspective on the subject. It was well received and led to discussion of the different ways in which widening participation is understood and addressed in India, the UK, and Ireland. Ann and Nidhi were also able to learn more about specific UK and Irish contexts and aim to pursue the joint learning from the workshop through further collaborative initiatives.
