Data Privacy Statement

The University of Warwick will process your personal data provided on this application form and share it with the Birmingham Trainee Solicitors Society (BTSS) for the purposes of administering the BTSS Mentoring Programme, including allocation of places on the programme, matching with a mentor and analysis and research to better understand the needs of our students and to evaluate the success of the programme.

The legal basis for processing this personal data is your consent, which is obtained through your submission of the online form. You are able to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting btsslawmentoring@warwick.ac.uk. In relation to the analysis and research we conduct, the lawful basis is the legitimate interests of the University.  

Your personal data will not be shared or disclosed to any third parties external to the University of Warwick except to the BTSS and your mentor. Your name and contact details will be shared with your mentor who will hold your personal data for the purpose of allowing them to carry out their mentoring relationship with you. It is expected that you will ensure adequate protection of any contact information for your mentor that is shared with you and only use this information for the purposes of the mentoring programme.

Your personal data may be shared with other members of staff within the University of Warwick for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the programme, to monitor participation in related programmes and to make you aware of related opportunities. If you wish to unsubscribe or withdraw your consent to receiving these communications, you can do so at any time by contacting btsslawmentoring@warwick.ac.uk.

Your personal data will not be transferred outside of the EEA, will be kept securely by the University of Warwick and will be retained for two years after the programme cycle end date (September 2027).
