Warwick Politics Society event: Tim Loughton, MP: Brexit and how we will move forward

- Export as iCalendar
Location: S0.21

Warwick Politics Society and Warwick Conservatives are proud to announce that Tim Loughton, MP for East Worthing & Shoreham, is coming to speak to us about Brexit and how we will move forward.

The event will take place from 19.00-20.00 in S0.21 (Social Sciences).

Tim himself supported Brexit and in his constituency, East Worthing & Shoreham, the margin of the vote to Leave was higher than the national figure at around 55%-45%. With a turnout of 72% of the British public, which was the highest in a UK-wide election since 1992, 17,410,742 people voting Leave – the biggest vote in British history for anything – and with all the regions of the UK voting to ‘Leave’ outside London, Scotland and Northern Ireland, it was a solid endorsement.

Given the current uncertainty around this topic it will be interesting to hear Tim's point of view and gain some perspective of the situation from within Parliament.

Tim Loughton MP is also a former Warwick student who will recognise from his recent appearance on Have I Got News For You and his role as Campaign Manager for Andrea Leadsom's Conservative leadership bid.
