Interdisciplinary Research Spotlights Funding Call DEADLINE 5th June
Eligibility:
The IRDF is open to staff in all academic Departments, Research Institutes and Centres, including, but not limited to, staff involved in Interdisciplinary Research Spotlight leadership teams.
A single Principal Investigator should be identified but each project must have at least one Co-I from a different Faculty.
Applicants should be a University employee in a permanent academic post or be the holder of an externally funded fellowship. Applicants must have at least 12 months left to run on their employment contract or Fellowship as of 1st August 2024.
Funding available:
The IRDF invites seed funding applications for normally up to £15,000 and a minimum of £5,000. Applications should align with one or more of the six Spotlights. They should seek to enhance or complement the activities of the Spotlights and foster collaboration across Departments and Faculties.
Applications may be for interdisciplinary research projects or for other research initiatives that stimulate cross discipline/faculty collaboration and/or external partnerships. In all cases, applications should make clear how they will support future external funding applications. While £15,000 is normally the maximum award value, the panel are willing to consider bids up to £25,000 in exceptional circumstances. Projects requesting more than £15,000 must liaise with the scheme contact in advance of making the application. All funding must be fully spent by 31 July 2025.
