On the 22nd of November, we welcomed past and present staff and students to our campus to celebrate 60 years of the University of Warwick with a Politics and International Studies alumni event.

The event was a great opportunity for past students to catch up with former classmates and reminisce on their time at Warwick, it also gave them a chance to reconnect with their lecturers that made their time at Warwick so special.

The event consisted of a panel of five people, all from different areas of the PAIS department, and they spoke on how PAIS at Warwick has evolved and changes in 60 years. The panel consisted of Matthew Clayton (Chair, and Head of Department), Shahnaz Akhter (Widening Participation Officer, PAIS) Dylan Balch (President of Warwick Politics Society) Wyn Grant (Former Chair of Department, PAIS) Shirin Rai (Former Member of Staff, PAIS) Vicki Squire (Director of Research, PAIS).

It was so lovely to hear past staff and students speak so fondly of their time at PAIS and how studying at Warwick has shaped them into who they are today and how they will always be thankful for what Warwick gave them.

After the panel, guests were invited to join us for a drink, nibbles, and networking event. Academics were able to reconnect with their old students, alumni caught up with old friends and recent graduates were able to speak to current students and offer advice for employment and life after Warwick.

The event was a tremendous success, and it was so lovely to see so many familiar faces to Warwick. Thank you to everyone involved in the event and to all who came!
