Academic appointment - Dr Tom Long
Dr Tom Long will join PAIS with effect from 1 September, 2017 as an Assistant Professor in Rising World Powers.PAIS research featured on the 6th anniversary of the Egyptian 25 January Revolution
Marking the sixth anniversary of the 25 January 2011 Egyptian Revolution, Nicola Pratt and Sara Salem have published a new article based on material from their research project, 'Politics and Popular Culture in Egypt: Contested Narratives of the 25 January 2011 Revolution and its Aftermath.'

, Associate Professor in US Politics, has appeared in a number of press articles based on a recent interview with the Press Association, regarding Donald Trump becoming the 45th president of the United States on Friday.

Dr Steven Kettell Launches New Report at The Shard
On January 17, Dr Steven Kettell held an event at the Shard to launch a report entitled: 'A Secularist Response to the Commission on Religion and Belief in British Public LIfe'. The report emphasises an alternative, inclusive and positive secularist framework based on shared values to put an end to unjustified religious privilege and to ensure that the rights and freedoms of all citizens are afforded equal weight and protection.
