H2020 Bid Success for IERG

IERG are pleased to announce a successful bid made to H2020 for their PRISMA initiative. PRISMA addresses risks and public concerns raised by new transformative technologies. PRISMA is one of many collaborations between Warwick’s IERG and Warwick Manufacturing Group, and develops the IERG’s track record of crossing the boundary between social sciences and STEM research. PRISMA is worth over Euros 250k to PAIS.

PAIS makes three outstanding academic hires

Professor Anthony King joined PAIS on 1st January 2016 as Chair in War Studies.

Dr Gabriel Siles-Brügge will join the department in academic year 2016/17 as an Associate Professor, and Dr Ece Özlem Atikcan will join the department in academic year 2016/17 as an Assistant Professor.

Dr Nicola Pratt Wins AHRC Research Grant

Nicola Pratt has been awarded an AHRC Research Grant for a 3-year project entitled 'Politics and Popular Culture in Egypt: Contested Narratives of the 25 January Revolution and its Aftermath'.

The interdisciplinary project, to be conducted in collaboration with Dr Dalia Mostafa, University of Manchester, and Dr Dina Rezk, University of Reading, will explore how popular culture has framed political events since 2011 and informed popular understandings of citizenship, national identity, agency and political authority.
