IMF Economist Program opportunity
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is now accepting applications for its next intake into its Economist Program (EP), an entry-level program for talented macroeconomists interested in pursuing a career in international economics and finance. It is a 3-year program specifically designed to enable participants to quickly gain operational experience and further develop macroeconomics expertise. EPs are given full professional responsibilities to carry out operations-related analysis, and to apply their studies and research to policy work that impacts the Fund's member countries.

Workshop co-organised by PAIS PhD student funded by Fritz Thyssen Foundation
The workshop "Performativity and Agency in International Politics", co-organised by PAIS PhD student Ben Braun, will be funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation. The workshop will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, in February 2013, with two PAIS PhD students and one postdoc accepted, PAIS will be represented by a sizable delegation from Warwick.
Juanita Elias - new book published
Juanita Elias (PaIS) and Samananthi Gunawardana (Monash University) have a edited collection out called the Global Political Economy of the Household in Asia. The book features contributions that: (a) examine how the household is increasingly being incorporated into development planning and policy making; (b) considerthe social consequencies of the tendancy to view households as marketizable spaces; and (c) explore how the household economy relates to broader structures of industrial production in the region.
The book's case studies on Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and China, provide a comprehensive picture of the centrality of the household to ongoing processes and struggles associated with the continuous economic transformation of the region.

International Development Agena - Millennium Development goals: Beyond 2015
Professor Franklyn Lisk will be giving a talk on the UN Post-2015 International Development Agenda to the Warwick District Brank of the UN Association of the UK.
It takes place on Saturday 26th October, 12pm-2pm at St Paul's Church Loung, Leicester Street, Leamington Spa. CV32 4TE. It is £3.50 per head and this includes a Ploughman's lunch and coffee.
Mariarosaria Taddeo nominated for 2013 World Technology Award
Mariarosaria Taddeo, a Research Fellow in Cyber Security and Ethics here in PAIS, has been nominated for a 2013 World Technology Network (WTN) award in the Ethics category.
