Profile

Dr Imogen Lambert is a Research Fellow in the Interdisciplinary Ethics Research Group (IERG) at the University of Warwick. She is an interdisciplinary sociologist whose work integrates continental political theory with empirically grounded social science. Her research spans two interlinked strands: first, the theorisation of reactionary politics, counter-revolution and political affect; and second, applied qualitative research into abuse, exploitation and safeguarding across health and social care. Across both areas, she aims, policy-relevant accounts of how power, abuse and oppression are organised, and how such experiences shape subjectivity. Her recent work includes co-produced studies on cognitive impairment and exploitation, practitioner-facing toolkits, and publications in Sociology of Health & Illness, Trauma, Violence & Abuse and the Journal of Public Health.

Outside academia, she has professional experience in the violence against women and girls sector as a counsellor and outreach worker.
