Profile

I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Politics and International Studies, fully funded by the PAIS Scholarship. Besides my BA degree in International Relations (Corvinus University of Budapest), I also hold Msc degrees in Development Economics (SOAS University of London) and Economic Geography (University of Groningen).

During my undergraduate studies, I participated in exchange semesters at the University of Bremen, the Waseda University in Tokyo and the University of Jordan in Amman, in addition to an Erasmus+ funded research internship in Istanbul.

I am also a proud alumnus of the Széchenyi István College for Advanced Studies (Budapest) where I completed the Public Economics track and served as elected committee member for academic affairs. I was the recipient of the 2018 Király Rita Award by the votes of the first-year cohort, as well as the 2021 Patrónus Teacher Award for my contributions to the newly established Global Politics academic programme.

Research

My thesis aims to investigate how changes in development finance and the neighbourhood policies of the EU impact the international political economy of energy transition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

More specifically, I am focusing on the intersection of large-scale, spatialized industrial policies in Egypt and the integration of climate and investment policies in the external financial field. My research is supervised by Professor Caroline Kuzemko Link opens in a new windowand Dr Mitya Pearson.

In the 2025/2026 academic year I am a Senior Graduate Teaching Assistant for the module PO107 Introduction to Politics.
