Team statement - ODA funding cuts
The team has put forward the following statement in light of uncertainties facing the Data and Displacement project due to the UK government's decision to cut funding for projects funded by overseas development aid.
Our Phase 1 Fieldwork has now Begun!
We have now begun our Phase 1 fieldwork in Northern Nigeria and South Sudan. In Nigeria, we will collect data from IDPs to examine how their needs are met in camps, and to understand their perspectives on how information is collected and used. In Juba, we are interviewing stakeholders to understand the effectiveness of humanitarian assistance, focusing on issues of data quality, accountability, and proportionality issues.
Output: First Training Session for Phase 1 Interview Completed
The D&D team has recently completed the first training session in preparation for our upcoming phase one fieldwork. Participants in this session gained a deeper understanding of the materials prepared to guide the execution of the fieldwork and how to operationalise them.The session was led by the Principal Investigator, Prof Vicki Squire, with presentations by team members. Five Researchers from Nigeria and South Sudan who participated in this session were awarded certificate of completion.
