WICID Funding Support Scheme 2021 - 2022 Open for Applications

WICID aims to connect researchers and support funding bids for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary and global south research. Such research may be connected to the four organising themes of WICID: gender, health, governance, and mobility. We will also support research funding bids on alternative themes.

The WICID Funding Support Scheme is open to researchers at the University of Warwick who demonstrate they meet the criteria outlined below.

Our funding support takes two forms:

1. Providing funds of up to £1,500 to support the development of an external funding bid.

2. Providing funds of up to £1,500 to support the development of a research idea, where a common working theme has been identified by a group of researchers and where a speculative bid can be prepared in advance of a specific call.

Further information and the application guidance is available on our funding page.

WICID Annual Report 2020 - 2021

It gives us great pleasure in sharing our annual report (2020-21) with you.

It has been a challenging year, as you know. However, WICID has continued to develop its work through its research, engagement and dissemination.

The takeaway points from the Report are:

  • Research grants - internally and externally funded grants, leading to publications;
  • WICID's contribution to the Warwick SDG Advisory Group and its Reports;
  • WICID Methods Lab - our flagship Toolkit series, published by Warwick University Press, continues to develop new methodologies which we are sharing with the international development community;
  • Webinars - our first Annual Lecture and South Asia and Covid-19 series were particularly successful;
  • Think Development Blog - was relaunched and is attracting an increasing interest and readership;
  • WICID YouTube channel is growing its reach and highlighting Warwick's interdisciplinary work in the field of international development.

We hope you will agree that we have responded to challenging circumstances, funding, and institutional landscape robustly and creatively. We hope to continue to extend and strengthen our work with your support.
