Salvete!
My PhD thesis is centred around the intersection between the discourse of Philosophy of Race, Politics, and the systematic philosophy of the French philosopher, Alain Badiou.
In short, my thesis seeks to investigate the proclivity of appealing to identity-politics by contemporary theorists of race in order to motivate social changes. The aim is to push back against the current approach and propose an alternative framework - centred around Badiou's philosophy - and argue for a non-identitarian form of political engagement. The essence of my work is - How might we conceive of radical (social) change?
The twin philosophical pillars of my thought - which, in turn, has become my overall approach to philosophy - are influenced by G.W.F Hegel and Alain Badiou.
My philosophical interests include but are not limited to: Ancient Greek philosophy (esp Parmenides; Plato), Early Modern Philosophy (esp Descartes; Spinoza), German Idealism (esp Kant; Hegel), 19-20th century philosophy (esp Marx; Bergson; Heidegger; Sartre), Alain Badiou, Metaphysics/Ontology, Philosophies of Love, and Philosophy of Race (both Analytic and Continental).
