Tips to save energy when working in the department:

• Turn off the lighting even when leaving a room for a short time.
• Turn off equipment (computers, printers etc.) when not in use.
• Only boil as much water as you need when making a drink.
• Always use cold water if you don't need it to be hot.
• If you get cold, add an extra layer of clothing before turning up the heating.
• Turn your Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) off before you open a window.

Process for reporting faults or dripping taps:

All staff and students should report faulty lights, draughty windows, dripping taps or constantly flushing toilets etc. to the university's Estates team for repair.
