Attendee Information

The WBS Behavioural Science and GRP Summer School 2022 will be run on Zoom. We will have support at each session to help with any issues. Contact them via this Teams chat.

We have sent out the individual Zoom links for each day to you as a calendar invitation and in the joining instructions email. As this is a private event, please do not share these with anyone.

Naming yourself

Please give your full name and affiliation on screen, rather than just your first name. This will help attendees to contact you during and after the event. You can edit your own name by

  1. Click on Participants icon at bottom of window
  2. Hover cursor over your name, and click on Rename
  3. Enter your full name and affiliation in the screen name box, and click on OK

Technical

Please take time to prepare for the event to ensure you have the best experience:

  1. Use the best quality webcam and microphone you can access. We recommend that you use headphones to improve your experience.
  2. We suggest you use an up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari or MS Edge.
  3. Whether you are using Windows or Mac, please make sure you close any other apps which might use the camera or microphone. This includes Facetime, Skype, Photobooth.
  4. Check your video following instructions here
  5. Check your audio following instructions here.

Please mute your microphone if you are not speaking. If your connection is poor we suggest you turn off your video until you wish to speak.

Screen Layout

To see the speaker full screen during a presentation, please follow the instructions provided here.

Introductions

After the welcome all attendees will be asked to introduce themselves very briefly – you should cover your name, affiliation, and your area of interest.

Q&As during Presentations

Redzo Mujcic will chair each session and will be moderating the questions at the end of each session.

If you wish to ask a question during or after a session, please put it into the chat function within the meeting room. Note that, unless you specify the recipients, all questions are visible to everyone. You may be asked to raise your hand within the session to ask your question in person. The chat function is in the bottom tool bar of the zoom meeting. To raise your hand, click the participant button and you will see the raise hand option. Lower your hand by clicking the same button.

 Networking

We have scheduled specific times during the Summer School to allow attendees to meet up and network. Rather than running breakout rooms which are time limited, we have set up individual Zoom meetings which run throughout the Summer School in parallel to the main meeting.

If you would like to chat to another attendee we suggest you contact them via a private message in Zoom in the first place and arrange to meet on one of the following links during the networking session or during one of the breaks.

As these run on Zoom they are better suited to general topic-based chat rather than personal conversations. If you would like us to set up smaller sessions we can do so on request via Teams – please use this Teams chat to send us the names of those who want to meet up, and we will send Teams meeting links.

We hope you manage to meet up with as many attendees as possible. Don’t be shy!

Troubleshooting

In case of any untoward interruptions, we will send out emails to speakers and attendees with links to redirect everyone to new Zoom meetings.

 SUPPORT

If you need to ask for support during the event, please use this Teams chat rather than the event chat on Zoom.  Please be aware that others will be able to see your messages.
