African Research Network

Established in 2019-20, this network aims to promote and raise the profile of research on or in Africa at Warwick.

Working closely with such partners, I hope we can build upon this foundation with new research and teaching partnerships to include non-governmental organisations, international institutions, private research institutes and private sector bodies."

The Alliance addressing fundamental questions in science

What are the basic building blocks of matter? What are the fundamental interactions? What happened in the earliest stages of the Universe, and how did that result in what we observe around us today? Large international collaborations are needed to progress towards answering these questions. Bringing together expertise from Warwick and Monash groups has created a unique alliance that enables us to take ever-stronger leadership in these international endeavours.

To tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the Alliance is training a future-ready workforce that can drive the next wave of scientific discoveries and their translation into clinical settings. Current research and training programmes do not sufficiently develop an interdisciplinary skill set that links with industry and clinicians.

The Monash Warwick Alliance Research Catalyst Fund enabled Associate Professors Fred Dahlmann and Wendy Stubbs to establish a pilot project to explore the roles played by members of a business ecosystem in accelerating actions aligned with achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
