Voices of the AllianceInca Hide-Wright

We invited researchers, staff, students and graduates to share their views of the Monash Warwick Alliance.

Give a brief overview of who you are and what you are studying at the Alliance?

As an undergraduate in Civil Engineering at Warwick and wnner of The Built Environment Undergraduate of the Year Award, after hearing about the MWA AISP programme, I knew it would be a great way to learn something different while meeting new people from both Warwick and Monash. The module itself also fascinated me as I have always been interested in history and the arts.

What was your involvement with the Alliance?

The module itself was delivered in an engaging way with lecturers based on opposite sides of the world hosting a hybrid of live and pre-recorded lectures. I would say the most valuable aspect was definitely being able to collaborate with a diverse range of people and hear about the same topic from a variety of perspectives.

What are your future plans?

I hope to have a job which allows me to travel and learn about different people and cultures when I graduate. Through this programme, I have made friends in Australia and I have also learnt more about Venice not only from a cultural perspective but also structurally and architecturally which particularly interested me.

Tell us one fun fact?

I once walked a cheetah!
