Warwick Network 2008

Registrar Jon BaldwinMessage from Jon Baldwin, University Registrar

Dear Colleagues,

Many thanks to all of you who were able to attend the Warwick Network Day on Wednesday 10 December. This year’s event was the best attended yet and it was heartening to see so many of you taking part in the day’s activities. We’ve also received a record amount of feedback this year– all of which has been most encouraging.

This year’s Warwick Network built on the last two events in 2006 and 2007. In a departure from the previous two, we held this year’s Network at the end of term – which seemed to prove a popular time of year, and gives us something to think about in our planning for the event in 2009.

The plenary sessions, led by the Vice-Chancellor and I, enabled us to give an update on Strategy progress and our new Chancellor Richard Lambert gave an inspirational speech on his aspirations for his new role at Warwick. A wide variety of breakout sessions took place and allowed for further discussion on the progression of various Strategy projects, as well as innovations within departments, plus a number of health and wellbeing sessions.

The feedback, as well as a review of each session, powerpoint presentations, where available, and photos of the graffiti wall, are now available.

If you weren’t able to attend, you might want to watch the plenary sessions, including the Chancellor’s address, online.

Although this year’s event has built on last year’s, there is always room for improvement. You can post your comments on the Network forum pages or submit your feedback online.

Once again, thank you for your enthusiasm and I hope that we can rely on your support in the year to come.
