A major new quantum technology research hub which is being led by researchers from University College London (UCL) and the University of Cambridge has been launched in collaboration with researchers from the University of Warwick.

A group of staff and postgraduate students from the department inspired students and teachers with exciting experiments and interactive games at the Big Bang Fair in Birmingham at the end of June.

Congratulations to Dr Rebecca Nealon, Ally Caldecote and Dr Farzana Meru for being announced as the winners of the Warwick Institute of Engagement Team Award, for the 'Coding with Sophie' programme.

On Thursday 25th July, 10.00-11.15, Professor Stéphane Udry from the University of Geneva will be delivering a talk at the University of Warwick titled 'The New Worlds of the Cosmos: A Fantastic Human Quest of our Time'. This event is open to all, and the content of the talk will be aimed at all knowledge levels.

In May, building work has begun in preparation for the UK’s first 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer. The spectrometer is funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and will be provided by Bruker, with some additional MAS probes from Phoenix.

Emma MacPherson showed the BBC team around her lab, showcasing the development of her skin scanner machine.
