New quantum technology research hub led by UCL in collaboration with Warwick researchers has been launched

A major new quantum technology research hub which is being led by researchers from University College London (UCL) and the University of Cambridge has been launched in collaboration with researchers from the University of Warwick.

Dr Ben Green, Prof Julie Macpherson, Prof Gavin Morley, and Prof Mark Newton, from the Departments of Physics and Chemistry in Warwick, are leading research projects using diamonds for quantum-enhanced in-vitro diagnostics and new quantum sensing technology. The Hub is called the UK Quantum Biomedical Sensing Research Hub (Q-BIOMED).

Warwick researchers are part of three of the five new quantum research Hubs. Prof Animesh Datta in the Warwick Physics Department is part of the Hub for Quantum Computing via Integrated and Interconnected Implementations (QCI3) led by the University of Oxford. Finally, Prof Morley is part of the Integrated Quantum Networks (IQN) Quantum Technology Hub led by Heriot-Watt University.
