Electrical Works University House Data Centre Saturday 31 July
Data Centre Shutdown - Overnight Friday 6 August
There is a requirement for Estates, in conjunction with ITS, to test all the electrical circuits within the ITS Data Centre. This is statutory work which has to be done at some point and will result in all machines in this data centre being powered down. While this will result in many services being unavailable, the following services WILL be available during this time:
Email (staff and student)
Telecoms (phones and emergency numbers)
Internet access
Managed Desktops – these will only be available if left logged on.

Data Centre Shutdown Overnight on Friday August 6
There is a requirement for Estates, in conjunction with ITS, to test all the electrical circuits within the ITS Data Centre. This is statutory work which has to be done at some point and will result in all machines in this data centre being powered down.
Although work is underway to mitigate the impact, at the moment this will mean that there are no IT services available from Friday evening until midday Saturday.
Obviously this will cause major disruption and it is unfortunate that this work comes so soon after 2-outages for the Network Replacement Project. However, as it is statutory electrical work, it is unavoidable although we are aiming to minimise the disruption by carrying the work out overnight.

Reminder - Network and Service Outages Saturday 27 March
As part of the Network Replacement Project (NRP), there is a requirement to move all the equipment within the University’s Data Centres onto the new network. While this work is taking place all IT systems will be unavailable.

Some Network Printing Unavailable Wednesday 24 March 17:00 until 19:30
Due to essential maintenance and upgrade work, Print Manager Tiger is will be unavailable this evening (24th March) between 17:00 and 19:30. All printing services associated with this server will be unavailable during this time.
Please contact the Helpdesk via Phone or E-mail if you experience any networking printing issues following on from this work.
Network Replacement Project (NRP)
The current hardware that provides the data network for campus and residences is approaching end of life and ITS have been working with its suppliers to redesign and replace the hardware. In order to migrate from the old network to the new network, an outage to IT services will be required.
Christmas Closure - 24 December to 2 January
Warwick Tree (NAL) and Network Filestore unavailable 10:00 to 18:00 Sat 22 Mar
Whilst essential hardware upgrades take place, it will not be possible to log onto any workstation that uses the Novell Client on Saturday 22nd March between 10:00 and 18:00. Remote access to network filestore (H drive) and staff email will available via web access using webmail and my.files at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/insite/
Replacement of Crocus - December 11th and 12th
The server 'Crocus' is due for replacement. It is a complex server and is responsible for delivering a wide range of services including many departmental specific applications and web sites. To minimise disruption during its replacement a significant amount of work relocating services has already been achieved.
