Change to ITS Directories - Impact on Managed Desktop Log-In

To make the management of ITS accounts more efficient we will be making a change to the way in which the current ITS directories are structured.  Testing has shown that this work will have no impact, although, once the work has taken place, Managed Desktop users will need to delete and re-enter their Username the next time they log-in to update the client.  The work will be taking place in batches over the coming weeks, if you experience problems logging in please delete and re-enter your Username in the log-in box before contacting support.

Log-On to Managed Desktop Unavailable – Saturday 31 July between 10:00 and 11:00

In order to create a ‘mirror’ of the server which authenticates Managed Desktop access, it will not be possible to log-on to a Managed Desktop between 10:00 and 11:00 this Saturday 31 July. This includes access to Workarea machines. Machines which are logged on at the time will be unaffected.  The benefit of this work is that log-on to Managed Desktops will now be possible during the data centre shutdown on the following weekend.

ITS Workarea Bookings

To ensure optimum availability of work areas for students during the final term of the year,  no further bookings will be taken for rooms on Central Campus and Westwood.  This action was agreed as part of the Service Board held in November.

Vacation Workarea Closures

As part of the University’s power saving initiative, the Open Access Workareas in R0.41 in the Library and on Westwood will be closed from Friday 18 December 2009 to Monday 4 January 2010 inclusive. Availability of PCs in other workareas can be checked using the online service seats.warwick.ac.uk

Welcome to Xenon

Following their successful tender submission, Xenon have been awarded the contract to provide maintenance and support services to students and staff on campus.  Xenon replace 2e2, who previously held this contract, however existing staff have transferred over from 2e2 to Xenon, ensuring in-depth knowledge and service continuity are maintained.

Warwick Tree (NAL) and Network Filestore unavailable 10:00 to 18:00 Sat 22 Mar

Whilst essential hardware upgrades take place, it will not be possible to log onto any workstation that uses the Novell Client on Saturday 22nd March between 10:00 and 18:00.  Remote access to network filestore (H drive) and staff email will available via web access using webmail and my.files at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/insite/

Online payment unavailable 00:00 - 14:00 Sat 09 Feb

Worldpay are upgrading all Worldpay accounts on Saturday 9 February. This will mean that no online payments will be possible, this includes the ability to purchase Printer Credits.
