Students Reach New Frontier in Fundraising

Six students from the University Of Warwick are causing a stir with their ambitious plans to raise £20,000 for The Prince’s Trust. The 2nd year Management students, known as Frontier, are holding numerous events across the year – the most ambitious being the ‘Frontier Fun Run’ which will take place on Sunday 24th February at the University.

Warwick Graduate’s Paralympic Hopes

Sportsman and Warwick graduate Tom Aggar was a keen rugby player before an accident left him paralysed two years ago. As part of his rehabilitation, Tom took up rowing and now the 22-year-old hopes to compete in the 2008 Bejing Paralympic games. Read more about Tom on BBC Sport.

UK School Games on Campus

The UK School Games, hosted this year by Coventry, takes place from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th August. Once again Warwick will be supporting the City by hosting the athletics events and providing accommodation and catering for the athletes and team managers.

Eco One Car in the Community

An environmentally friendly eco-car made from vegetables and designed by students at the University of Warwick has been on tour around Coventry and Warwickshire.

Its first public outing was at the Eden Project in April, but since then Eco One has been on the road meeting school pupils, business leaders and Coventry Ambassadors. Its next stop is a meeting of industry leaders and academics in Birmingham and it will then enjoy a day out at the Royal Show at Stoneleigh in July.


Medical student heads off on South Africa rugby trip

Ralph MitchellA Warwick medical student will make his first overseas debut as one of the youngest rugby referees in the game when he travels to South Africa next month. Ralph Mitchell is just 22 years old, eight years younger than the average age of a rugby referee, and he will be flying out to officiate Schools and State Club Games in Durban.

Three Warwick Students Shortlisted for local sporting awards

This year sees the launch of the Coventry and Warwickshire Sports Awards in assosciation with Greater Warwickshire Sport.

WBS Students win International Sailing MBA cup

Fifteen crews of MBA students travelled to Italy this month to compete for this year's MBA Sailing Cup, the sailing regatta of the world's top business schools. Warwick Business School came home with first prize and an armful of trophies.
