Wonder Woman, MI5, Teletubbies, Mathematics and battling poverty – just parts of the CVs of five people to be awarded honorary degrees by the University of Warwick

The University of Warwick has announced that it will award honorary degrees to six people at its winter degree ceremonies which will run from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th January 2017 (inclusive), in the Butterworth Hall in Warwick Arts Centre.

First graduate & first 200,000 hours of high tech study from new Jaguar Land Rover & WMG programme

The very first Masters student graduated, on Tuesday 14th July, at the University of Warwick from a technology programme which trains staff from across Jaguar Land Rover. From the shop floor to senior managers, and from all disciplines, the Technical Accreditation Scheme (TAS) is designed to develop employees skills to help create the next generation of vehicles and staff across Jaguar Land Rover have now completed over 200,000 hours of study in the new programme.

Summer Degree Ceremonies 2012

The University’s Summer Degree Ceremonies will take place from Monday 16 to Friday 20 July 2012. The Summer Ceremonies are a celebration of our students' successes and achievements and, with eleven ceremonies throughout the week, will see around 4,000 students graduating from the University. The ceremonies will take place in the Butterworth Hall in the Arts Centre.

Carlos Fuentes, 1928-2012

Carlos Fuentes, who died on May 15th 2012, was an internationally well-known and critically acclaimed Mexican novelist and honarary graduate of the University of Warwick. Professor John King from the School of Comparative American Studies reflects upon his life and achievements.


VandeLinde Inaugural Lecture in New York

Distinguished Warwick alumna, Baroness Amos, will deliver the inaugural VandeLinde Lecture in New York on 3rd November. Baroness Amos is the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, and will deliver the lecture at BBC Worldwide, New York. The new lecture series has been established to honour Professor David VandeLinde, who served with distinction as the fourth Vice Chancellor of the University of Warwick.
