In a recent paper published by the European Commission, ‘Teleworkability and the COVID-19 crisis: a new digital divide?, Enrique Fernández-Macías and his colleagues investigated the extent of teleworking in the EU before and during the COVID-19 outbreak, and developed a conceptual framework and new empirical approach to identify the jobs that can be done from home and those that cannot. Dr Enrique Fernández-Macías research interests lie in the area that exists between economics and sociology, focusing on work and employment issues such as: The division of labour and change in employment structures. -Job quality and working conditions. -Technical change, work and employment. Wage inequality. European labour markets and labour regulation. He is currently a Researcher in the Joint Research Center of the European Commission
