Warwick Conferences has been selected as the next host destination for the European Congress on Digital Pathology (ECDP) to be held in April 2019.

The 15th edition of the now annual conference is expected to attract up to 500 students, trainees, academics, clinicians and industry representatives from around the world and will follow from the successful 2018 congress hosted in Helsinki. The conference will be chaired by Professors Nasir Rajpoot and David Snead, who are leading the recently awarded £14.2m PathLAKE centre of excellence for AI in pathology to help develop cutting-edge technologies for cancer diagnosis and personalised treatment.

The leading not-for-profit digital pathology conference in Europe will feature keynote talks and industrial exhibitions showcasing the latest advances and emerging trends in digital and computational pathology. Warwick Conferences will be managing the event, working together with Professor Nasir Rajpoot and his team to support with the three-day conference.

The ECPD will be held at The Oculus building, where Warwick Conferences can offer one location to not only host lectures and smaller seminars, but also an exhibition space for delegates and sponsors to network. Attendees and organisers will be accommodated for and can also take advantage of Warwick Conferences’ award-winning catering facilities throughout their visit.

Professor Nasir Rajpoot from the University of Warwick, commented: “We are honoured to host the European Congress on Digital Pathology, which has grown to be a truly multi-disciplinary and most stimulating meeting of academics, computer scientists, healthcare professionals and industrial representatives. The UK has traditionally been at the forefront of cellular pathology and there are now significant developments in the UK in the areas of digital and computational pathology. It is right and proper that the congress is brought to the UK for the first time.
“We are in the process of putting together a stimulating conference programme consisting of invited talks by established luminaries and young rising researchers in the field to present their cutting-edge research.”

Emma Willis, Business Development Manager at Warwick Conferences, added: “We’ve enjoyed working with Nasir and the organising committee at the ECDP to bring this conference together and we hope that delegates, sponsors and exhibitors will enjoy their visit to University of Warwick. We will be supporting the team throughout the planning process, providing logistics support as well as developing a cultural programme that will fit around the conference programme to include visits around Coventry and Warwick Castle.

“Our venue has excellent links to Birmingham Airport, meaning people travelling internationally will be able to easily arrive at the conference, while the access to our leading academics makes it a fantastic opportunity to learn from the world’s best specialists in digital pathology.”
