Recent Changes to the University Calendar
Revisions to Regulation 4.10
At its meeting on 10 July 2013 the Council conformed revisions to Regulation 4.10 to reflect practice in relation to the constitution and application of the appeals process; specifically, revisions address the issue of the timeframes for appeal, formalise the composition of the Appeals Committee and clarify the process to be followed by the Appeals Committee.
Revision of Regulation 23
Regulation 23 that governs Disciplinary Regulations was fully revised and renamed 'Student Disciplinary Offences' on 12/09/2013.
Regulation 23 was approved by the Senate at its meeting held on 3 July 2013 and by the Steering Committee on behalf of the Senate at its meeting held on 22 July 2013.
Regulation 23 was confirmed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the Council on behalf of the Council on 12 September 2013.
Revisions to Regulations 2, 8 & 9
At its meeting on 10 July 2013, the Council approved the proposed amendments to University Regulation 2 governing Committee Elections.
At its meeting on 10 July 2013, the Council approved the proposed amendments to University Regulation 8 governing the Regulations for First Degrees
At its meeting on 10 July 2013, the Council approved the proposed amendments to University Regulation 9 governing Constitutions of Boards of Examiners
Revision to Regulations 8.12, 37.5 and 38 governing appeals relating to decisions of final-year Undergraduate Boards of Examiners
On 20 June 2013, the Chair of the Council, on behalf of the Council, has approved an amendment to Regulation 8.12 to clarify the remit of the preliminary review panel in cases of student appeals against the decision of final-year Undergraduate Boards of Examiners, on the recommendation of the Senate.
On 10 July 2013, the Council confirmed amendments to Regulation 37.5 and Regulation 38, to bring them into line with changes previously approved to regulation 8.12.
Revisions to Regulations 8, 11, 12, 36 and 38
The Council at its meeting held on 11 July 2012 approved revisions to the following Regulations, on the recommendation of the Senate;
Regulation 8 for First Degrees
Regulation 11 Governing Procedure to be Adopted in the Event of Suspected Cheating in a University Test
Regulation 12 Absence for Medical Reasons from a University Examination for First Degrees
Regulation 36 Governing Student Registration, Attendance and Progress
Regulation 38 Governing Research Degrees
