Revisions to Ordinance 13
At its meeting on 6 February 2019, the Council approved for the first time amendments to University Ordinance 13 on Degrees and Diplomas
At its meeting on 6 February 2019, the Council approved for the second time amendments to University Ordinance 13 on Degrees and Diplomas
Rationale: to include a new degree title of Master of Science (MSci). This inclusion is necessary to assign the correct degree title to a new degree developed by Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), which will be offered as an Integrated Masters degree in the area of Technology, Health and Wellbeing Services.
Revisions to Regulation 11
At its meeting on 6 February 2019, the Council approved amendments to the following University Regulation, with changes taking immediate effect:
- Regulation 11 (Procedure to be adopted in the Event of Suspected Cheating in a University Test)
Rationale: to align to the changes that were made to Regulation 10 in October 2018.
Revisions to Ordinances 7, 9 and 13
At its meeting on 21 November 2018, the Council approved for the first time amendments to University Ordinance 13 on Degrees and Diplomas
Rationale: to include a new degree title of Master of Science (MSci). This inclusion is necessary to assign the correct degree title to a new degree developed by Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), which will be offered as an Integrated Masters degree in the area of Technology, Health and Wellbeing Services.
At its meeting on 21 November 2018, the Council approved for the second time amendments to University Ordinance 7 on Constitution of the Boards of the Faculties and University Ordinance 9 on Board of Graduate Studies.
Rationale: to incorporate changes following Council's approval that the Faculties of Science and Medicine merge to create a new Faculty, the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine.
Revisions to Regulations 20 and 41
At its meeting on 21 November 2018 the Council approved amendments to the following University Regulations, with changes taking immediate effect:
- Regulation 20 (Consideration of Honorary Graduands and Honorary Graduates)
Rationale: to reflect the reduction in independent member representation on the Honorary Degrees Committee.
- Regulation 41 (Governing the Management of the Impact upon the University's Academic Business of Force Majeure)
Rationale: to provide clearer guidance to key stakeholders on how to manage academic business during times of significant disruption.
Revisions to Regulation 10
At its meeting on 17 October 2018 the Council approved amendments to the following University Regulation, with changes taking immediate effect:
- Regulation 10 (Examination Regulations)
Rationale: following a review of the University’s processes and procedures related to examinations to improve current arrangements and incorporate best practice in the sector, it was proposed that Regulation 10 be amended to reflect the outcomes of the examination review.
