Revision to Regulation 9.5
Regulation 8 Governing First Degrees
Further to revisions approved by the Senate and the Council in March and May 2010 respectively, the Chairs of the Senate and the Council, on behalf of the Senate and the Council, have approved amendments to Regulation 8 to clarify the position of credit achieved via resit examinations under the new University assessment conventions.
In addition, the removal of some obsolete courses from Regulation 8 was approved - namely,
BA with Qualified Teacher Status (post 1996 entry)
BA with Qualified Teacher Status (pre- 1996 entry)
BEd
BPhil(Ed) (Part-Time)
Regulation 12 (Absence for Medical Reasons from a University Examination for First Degrees)
At its meeting held on 14 July 2010, the Council approved, on the recommendation of the Senate, revisions to Regulation 12 governing the procedures relating to Absence for Medical Reasons from a University Examination for First Degrees.
Regulation 8.11(5) Governing Foundation Degrees
The Council at its meeting on 14 July 2010 approved, on recommendation of the Senate, revisions to regulation 8.11(5) to amend the resit examination period for Foundation Degree students and to clarify when final awards may be made.
This revision is effective from September 2010.
Regulations Relating to Collaborative Provision
At its meeting held on 14 July 2010, the Council approved, on the recommendation of the Senate, a new regulation 37.8 regarding the joint award of LLM and Postgraduate Diploma in Law and Development with Mekelle University.
The Council also approved, on the recommendation of the Senate, a new regulation 40 on collaborative courses which will cover all standard collaborative provision.
