Terms of Reference

To act as a general purpose and executive committee with delegated authority from the Academic Resourcing Committee (ARC) to:

  1. Consider matters of importance requiring urgent decisions or approvals which would normally be referred to ARC, but where a meeting of ARC Executive precedes the next meeting of ARC
  2. Consider and approve appropriate operational issues that are relevant to the business of ARC in order that the focus of ARC meetings is on strategic and planning matters
  3. Preview proposals and reports prior to their submission to ARC in order to provide an initial analysis and interrogation such that any immediate questions may be asked and answered before consideration by the full Committee
  4. Manage and consider other matters referred to it by ARC.

Reporting Structure

Academic Resourcing Committee (ARC) Executive (formerly known as ARC-Chairs of Faculty) is a sub-group of the Academic Resourcing Committee (ARC).

ARC Executive provides an alternative, as opposed to additional, route for consideration of business which is covered by ARC’s Terms of Reference but where there is a benefit to that business being considered/approved outside or in-between full ARC meetings.

ARC Executive reports relevant business to ARC. Approved minutes of ARC Executive meetings are provided below-the-line (for information) to ARC meetings.

Meetings

ARC Executive meets for an hour on the first Monday morning of each month.
