Warwick’s University Council convened for its first meeting of the academic year, starting the year with a focus on education excellence and the student experience.
Council welcomed the positive 2025 student admissions outcome and high student satisfaction reflected in the National Student Survey results. Members also requested further insight into academic and pastoral support, especially in light of growing student cohorts.
Members engaged in a strategic discussion with the Chief Executive Officer of the Russell Group, exploring global and UK developments in Higher Education and their implications for Warwick’s future. An update on the University’s Financial Plan was given. The final Plan would be brought back to the November meeting for approval.
The Students’ Union Sabbatical Officers presented their priorities for 2025–26, indicating opportunities to collaborate with the University on delivering an outstanding student experience.
