Argent Court

This external view shows the same external area but with the plant installed.

In the foreground to the right is the generator. Behind this is the dry air cooler (DAC) and to the left hand side of the DAC are the cooling chillers.

The DAC is an efficent means of cooling the data centre and works drawing air through a radiator style matrix using fans mounted on top of the unit. The cool air being drawn through, cools the hot water which has returned from the data centre.

The DAC works at external temperatures of around 12 degrees C or less. Should the external temperature be higher than this, the conventional chillers shown on the right, will cool the hot return water using traditional refrigeration methods.
