URSS Application 2022

The URSS is great opportunity lead your own research project and carry out a public engagement activity. The URSS helps develop valuable transferable skills, try out real life research, enhance your CV and career prospects, as well as building your confidence.

To apply you will need to find a supervisor, an academic or post-doctoral student, and discuss the project with them before applying. The URSS application is now open and should be completed in conjunction with your lead supervisor by the closing date of Sunday 13 February 2022 at 11:59pm. Please note that this is the absolute deadline and we will not be able to accept any further applications beyond this date.

You will need to prepare the content of the application with your supervisor in advance in order to complete the online application and you will need to include a public engagement activity. If you would like support with this, Warwick Institute of Engagement have put together a series of resources to help you and have several support workshops planned – you can find full details on their website

The URSS application Review Board will meet on 15 March, after the applications have been assessed by the URSS reviewers, and the outcome will be communicated by email to both staff and students towards the end of March/beginning of April 2022.

We are also pleased to announce that the EUTOPIA partnership are offering funding to carry out a URSS summer project at one of the EUTOPIA campuses. The application deadline is Sunday 13 February 2022.

Will you require any training or assistance from Warwick Institute of Engagement prior to the event? (required)
Please ensure that your project finishes far enough in advance of the URSS deadline to ensure that you have enough time to complete and submit the Moodle URSS Experience that is a requirement.
Will your project involve travel outside the UK? (required)
If yes, please provide details. Please not that you will be required to provide a full travel itinerary and risk assessment if you are travelling outside the UK.
Will you require top-up funding (up to £200) in addition to the URSS bursary for your Public Engagement activity? (required)

All successful URSS applicants may be invited to participate in other opportunities to showcase their research at University exhibitions and events, such as the International Conference of UG Research.
