URSS: Information for Staff

The URSS relies on the support of volunteers to review project applications and to supervise students’ projects. The contribution of everyone who helps to make this opportunity available to students is valued and appreciated.

Information for reviewers:

The role of the reviewer is to assess and score students’ URSS applications, based on the URSS assessment criteria.

Reviewers work in pairs, organised by the URSS team, and typically review around ten applications. Application reviews take place over a two-week period in mid-February.

Information for supervisors:

URSS supervisors provide academic supervision for the student’s project, as well as advice on developing the project proposal for the application. Supervisors are also required to complete part of the URSS application form, alongside the student.
