Inclusive Spaces on Campus

Inclusive Spaces

We want to support everyone to enjoy our campus and find the environment to be one which helps them to perform at their very best.

Physical environment has a key role to play in facilitating access for Warwick’s staff and students and we are working to ensure that the campus is physically accessible and adaptable to different needs.

We have a range of inclusive facilities across campus to address the diverse needs of our community, and we are continuing to add to this.

Principles

The Estates Inclusive Environment Statement of Principles has been prepared to outline the requirements for the University to provide an estate of optimum size, location, quality, and condition.

The Estates team recognises a responsibility to ensure that the physical environment meets the needs and expectations of students, staff, tenants, contractors, and visitors and therefore inclusive environment principles are a core requirement. The Statement of Principles assist Estates with the delivery of capital development, refurbishment and minor works projects that will support the University in delivering its core objectives.

Facilities

See details of the inclusive spaces on campus below:

  • Gender-Neutral Facilities - We recognise that gendered facilities are not accessible for everyone, this webpage from the Queering University project lists the locations of gender-neutral toilets and showers/changing rooms.
  • Infant Feeding Rooms - Warwick has a number of infant feeding rooms available on campus (rooms can also be used for milk expression), which you'll find details of on this webpage.
  • Prayer Spaces - The Chaplaincy is open 365 days a year and has several spaces across the University campus, which you can find details of in this list on the Chaplaincy webpages.
  • Quiet Places - Disability Services have collated a list of quieter spaces on campus which can help provide a calmer environment for any student who is feeling overwhelmed.

Please answer the diversity monitoring questions on your personal record.

We are committed to increasing the diversity of our staff and students. To do this, we need your help to understand our community. The University collects a range of diversity monitoring data for staff and students, answering these questions should only take a few minutes. See more on what we ask and why here.
