The University of Warwick is pleased to welcome students from Africa each year, studying from foundation programme to our research degrees. Warwick IFP: For information on entry requirements for the Warwick International Foundation Programme, please visit their website.

UndergraduateLink opens in a new window: Students that have taken the National Senior Certificate and obtained passes in five or more subjects may be considered for direct entry to an undergraduate programme. We typically accept grades ranging from 77777/AAAAA (comparable to A Level grades A*A*A) to 76666/ABBBB (comparable to A Level grades ABB). Specific subjects will usually be required with a 7/A.

PostgraduateLink opens in a new window: We would typically require one of the following qualifications from a recognised institution, for entry onto our postgraduate taught courses:

  • Bachelors degree with Honours
  • Professional Bachelors degree
  • Bachelors in Technology (BTech)
  • Bachelors in Architecture
  • Bachelors degree in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science
  • Any NQF level 8 qualification

With the following typical minimum equivalencies:

 UK Classification Percentage South African Classification
1st 75 - 100% 1st class
2:1 70 - 74% Upper Second
2:2 60 - 69% Lower Second
