Academic support is excellent, which you get during all steps of your journey. Academics are like a friend, always helpful and supportive to solve any issues. I also want to emphasize how the administrative staff are supportive as well.

Discover Mujdat's journey at Warwick and what led them to apply for a PhD in Politics and International Studies, studying with us from 2022.

 
How did you find out about Warwick?

I had some friends at the University of Warwick, and they were telling me how excellent Warwick University was. I also did some search on Google and the University website.

What made you choose Warwick?

It has a good reputation for its quality of education and staff. Also, it was providing a scholarship for PhD, which is very rare in social sciences for overseas students, thus Warwick was my first choice.

Did you contact the department prior to applying?

I have contacted some academics at the department to find a supervisor for my PhD. I mostly communicated with the Graduate School.

How did you apply? Did you receive any help with the process?

I applied myself, without difficulty, the application was very clear and explained very well in your website. I faced no problems during the application

How are you funding your studies?

Chancellor's International Scholarship.

How was your arrival?

It was amazing. I had my first visit to Warwick before the terms started. My supervisor invited me to have a meeting and lunch together. It was like an induction week. This first contact with my supervisor was very beneficial because I could not come to University during the actual induction week when I was dealing with moving issues.

What is the best thing about being a student at Warwick?

Academic support is excellent, which you get during all steps of your journey. Academics are like a friend, always helpful and supportive to solve any issues. I also want to emphasize how the administrative staff are supportive as well.

It is a living campus full of activities and opportunities. Warwick campus is like a city in itself, such as bars, cafes, markets, sports facilities, green areas etc. You will never get bored here.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

I want to become a lecturer at the University and help students to improve their skills and knowledge.

What makes you happiest about studying at Warwick?

It is difficult to describe Warwick as a one thing. Warwick is a like dream, from which I never want to wake up. This is the best sentence I think for Warwick University.

What advice would you give anyone considering studying at Warwick?

Academic/administrative/library staff are accommodating and guiding you at every step of your journey. Keep in touch with your lecturer and supervisors as much as possible. Never hesitate to ask if you have a question; you will find someone to help you or guide you to find your answers.
