Primary

John Piper
Mead Gallery
Tue 1 May – Thu 21 Jun 2018, 12 - 9pm
FREE Entry

To support the Mead Gallery’s upcoming John Piper exhibition, a number of Creative Learning sessions will be available for all key stages and groups in formal and informal education

During their exploration of the exhibition, students will have the opportunity to create a sketch book in response to Piper’s work using collage, drawing, graphic design and painting for glass. Through their study of the cathedral and of Piper’s work, students will discover different approaches to recording and reimagining architecture and place.

You might also want to combine your visit to the exhibition with a visit to Coventry Cathedral. John Piper not only painted the ruins of the original medieval cathedral in 1940 but was commissioned to make the Baptistry window of the new cathedral.
