UniTracks Cohort 10 Launch

Modern Records Centre

On Saturday 22 November, UniTracks: The Warwick Young Achievers’ Programme, welcomed 75+ new year 10 members from a dozen schools onto campus.

UniTracks works with gifted and talented students from across the country to help turn their amazing academic potential into successful applications to research intensive universities. New UniTracks members were given a taste of university life with the chance to tour Warwick’s campus, meet and interact with current Warwick students, and participate in academic sessions facilitated by Warwick Business School and the Modern Records Centre.

They were also given lots of information on how UniTracks wants to support them between now and when they complete sixth form or college in 2018. A large number of parents and carers joined the new UniTracks members as well. They had the chance to work with members of Warwick’s Outreach team to help them understand the advantages that a university education can provide their children, as well as support on understanding the financial implications of choosing to attend university. Nick Barker, Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, also treated parents and carers to a well-received demonstration of university-level teaching methods and expectations.

With exciting opportunities for UniTracks members forthcoming, such as The Big Deal enterprise competition, there is also lots to look forward to.
