Our top tips:

· Encourage your students to apply early for their student finance, even if they don’t yet have a confirmed place. The cycle opens at the end of January and applications should be submitted by the end of May in order to be assessed by the start of the academic year.

· Start researching bursary and scholarship support and be aware of eligibility criteria and application deadlines. Contact universities directly to see what’s on offer. See www.warwick.ac.uk/warwickusb for details about the awards available from Warwick.

· Discuss possible parental contributions and look into part-time work opportunities, from this students can gain a realistic idea of how their budget will take shape as a student.
