Overview

The Year 10 Work Experience programme is a collaboration between the Widening Participation and Social Mobility team, and departments at the University of Warwick. We are delighted that we will again be welcoming Year 10 students to the University, and are offering a choice of two streams: Engineering or Creative Arts.

This is a unique opportunity, allowing students to benefit from hands-on experience of working directly on a variety of projects; learning from the expertise of academics and specialists, while gaining an insight into studying at a top university

Our Work Experience programme is suitable for individuals who are looking to pursue a future in science and engineering, or the creative arts. It runs from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July 2026 on campus at the University of Warwick.

Key information about the programme has been sent to careers leads and heads of year in Coventry and Warwickshire secondary schools.

See what previous participants had to say about their week of work experience...

"It’s amazing and very creative what the students were able to achieve in just five days — it really helped to build their confidence and gave them a glimpse into what they might want to do in the future. I was so surprised to see how much my son was able to do, and very happy that he learned something new and different. The Work Experience has really inspired him” (Parent, July 2025)
