mA*ths Online Programme
About the mA*ths Online Programme
The mA*ths Online Programme supports A-level Mathematics students who are considering studying a maths-related degree at university through in-person masterclasses and tailored online modules.
In this programme programme, students will:
- Develop the skills needed to achieve an A* in A-level Mathematics
- Build confidence to apply to universities that require an A* in Mathematics for their courses
The mA*ths Online Programmes are supported by the Hg Foundation. Programme content (including videos) are based on the original mA*ths Online Programme and Further mA*ths Online Programme content created by Imperial College London in collaboration with Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI).
What to expect
For 2025/26, we are running the Year 12 mA*ths Online Programme curricula, which will include the following:
One-day introductory masterclass
This in-person event provides students with an opportunity to visit the Warwick campus and meet the mentors who will be working with them on the programme. Workshops and sessions will be run by Warwick Mathematics Institute academics and students, as well as MEI.
When: Winter 2026
Two seven-week Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
These online courses have been designed to fit with the A-level Mathematics curriculum in a structured series.
Content is delivered in a variety of ways including videos, practice questions and assessments, covering a range of methods and applications.
When: Spring 2026
Online mentoring with current students
Alongside the MOOCs, students receive ongoing online mentoring from current Warwick students.
When: Spring 2026
Closing one-day masterclass
This event gives students an opportunity to revisit the campus and celebrate completing the programme. There will also be further workshops to help support students develop their maths skills alongside the A-level curriculum. The day includes workshops supported by Warwick academics, student mentors, and MEI.
