Widening Participation Student Advisory Group - Apply to join

Would you like to get involved with the Widening Participation (WP) agenda at the University?

We want to hear from UK students (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Part-Time) who are from WP backgrounds and would like share their voices and thoughts around WP issues and join the Student Advisory Group.

The group acts as a forum where students from a diverse range of widening participation (WP) backgrounds can advocate for WP students and work with decision-makers at the University to improve student experience. This extends across the whole student lifecycle, from pre-entry through to graduation and beyond, incorporating access, transition, success and progression.

If you would like to be part of this group and share your thoughts around opportunities and barriers to access and participation in higher education, and identify as a student from a Widening Participation background, please complete the short application form below outlining any relevant experience.

The group will meet around twice a term, meetings will last for approximately 1.5 hours. Our first meeting will take place on Wednesday, 5 March from 13:30-15:00.

We are actively seeking applications from students in their first or second year of study that can commit to being part of this group until at least July 2026, however we will also consider applications from students due to graduate earlier.

If you’d like to have a brief chat about what’s involved or have any questions please feel free to get in touch with us at .
