Changes to the Academic Loop Road Area: 27 February 2017

From Monday 27 February, the section of Academic Loop Road that is closed to all unauthorised vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will change. The road and paths will be closed as shown on the map, for added safety during the construction of the Mathematical Sciences Building and the National Automotive Innovation Centre.

Drivers

If you're driving on Academic Loop Road, please take care and drive slowly in the area. It's heavily populated with pedestrians and cyclists, and there will be more construction traffic present.

From University Road, vehicle access will be available to the following buildings via the IMC entrance to Academic Loop Road:

  • Multi-storey car park 15 (behind IMC)
  • IMC rear (restricted access only)

From University Road, vehicle access will be available to the following buildings via the Sports Centre entrance to Academic Loop Road:

  • Sports Centre via car park 8a
  • Multi-storey car park 8
  • Claycroft residences (restricted access only)
  • Restricted access route to AMMC, Phytobiology and the Digital Laboratory
  • Restricted access route to IIPSI, IINM and the Zeeman building

Car parking

The Riley 2 temporary surface car park will become site parking for NAIC and Mathematical Sciences Building contractors only from Monday 27 February. Permit holder parking as available nearby in Lynchgate Car Park.

Pedestrians and cyclists

Pedestrians and cyclists can divert around the front of the Computer Science Building and the Zeeman Building.

Please take extra care crossing Academic Loop Road near the Claycroft residences as traffic will now flow 2 ways, and there will be increased construction traffic in the area.
