The Maintenance OperationsTeam
Our Maintenance Operations Team is changing and growing and we’re looking for skilled people like you to help us shape and deliver our new, improved service. The Vacancies
Building Fabric Officer
We’re looking to appoint a Building Fabric Officer who’ll play a key role to the running of the Building Fabric Services section of our Maintenance department.
Salary up to £44,263 per annum plus a generous benefits package including 42 days leave (including bank holidays and customary days)
You’ll lead a team to help ensure the building fabric and public realm across the University campus is kept in excellent shape and compliant. You’ll manage a team of direct labour and 3rd party contractors to ensure that all statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is completed. You’ll also be involved with managing building fabric-related projects.
As a technical expert in your trade(s) specialism, you enjoy assessing problems, providing solutions and mobilising resources and expertise to implement solutions to complex building fabric problems. You’ll also be comfortable with the admin side of being a manager – keeping records/documentation up to date, writing reports, having input into the budget.
You’ll have experience in the building fabric services industry and a HNC/D qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience).

Electricians
Day Shifts and Late/Weekend Shifts Available
In this role you’ll carry out routine, planned and reactive electrical maintenance duties, fault diagnostics and repairs to a wide range of electrical systems to ensure our customers receive a high quality, efficient response service., You’ll also work on minor installations for all electrical services throughout the University.
You will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installations or Maintenance with the ability to carry out installation, maintenance and electrical testing and requirements in accordance with BS7671 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and Electricity at Work Act as well as an excellent understanding of Health & Safety and the associated processes.
In addition to a competitive base salary of up to £32,982 per annum (depending on your role), you’ll receive a market supplement of £2,000 per annum. If you apply for the Late/Weekend Shift, you’ll also receive a generous shift allowance (17% of your basic hourly rate) to compensate for working late shifts and at weekends. Typically, the Late/Weekend Shift covers the hours 13:00 to 23:00 Monday to Friday and 07:30 to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. If you work on the Day Shift it will be Monday to Friday business hours plus occasional weekends on a rota basis (approximately 5 weekends a year but you’ll only ever be required to work 5 days in 7)

Plumbers and Heating/Ventilation Technicians
Day Shifts and Late/Weekend Shifts Available
Providing a high quality, efficient, response service and routine maintenance for all plumbing and mechanical building services and associated equipment installed throughout the University, you’ll ensure statutory, planned and breakdown work is completed safely, cost effectively and to agreed standards.
Your tasks will include maintenance and reactive remedial work on boilers, heating and lighting systems, ventilation, air conditioning and other mechanical equipment.
You will have NVQ Level or equivalent in both Plumbing and Heating, HVAC/ventilation or Refrigeration and Water Regulations & Unvented Hot Water Systems (3345) with the ability to carry out a range of plumbing and mechanical fitting activities.

Electrical Supervisor

We’re looking to appoint an Electrical Supervisor in our growing Electrical Services section in the Maintenance team at the University of Warwick.
Salary package up to £38,982 per annum plus a generous benefits package including 38 days leave (including bank holidays and customary days)
In this role you’ll be responsible for supervising the electrical services team and 3rd party contractors to ensure statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is provided to the university campus to agreed standards/KPIs. This will involve the operation and maintenance of power systems, alarms and access control, life safety system communications, security and CCTV.
You’ll have experience in the building services sector undertaking electrical installation and maintenance works, including Approved High Voltage Switching training/experience, and be qualified to at least HNC/NVQ3 standard (or equivalent experience).
If you apply for the Late/Weekend Shift, you’ll also receive a generous shift allowance (17% of your basic hourly rate) to compensate for working late shifts and at weekends. Typically, the Late/Weekend Shift covers the hours 13:00 to 23:00 Monday to Friday and 07:30 to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. We’re looking to appoint a Mechanical Supervisor in our growing Mechanical Services section in the Maintenance team at the University of Warwick.

You’ll be responsible for supervising the mechanical services team and 3rd party contractors in our Energy Centre, ensuring all statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is provided to the university campus to agreed standards/KPIs. This will involve supervising and monitoring the workload of your teams to ensure tasks are carried out to the highest standards.
You’ll have experience in the building services sector undertaking mechanical installation and maintenance works, including HVAC systems, and be qualified to HNC/NVQ3 standard (or equivalent experience).

We’re looking to appoint an Administrator of Mechanical Contracts in our growing Maintenance team at the University of Warwick.
Salary up to £32,982 per annum plus a generous benefits package including 38 days leave (including bank holidays & customary days)
You’ll be responsible for the administration of the outsourced mechanical departments subcontractors to ensure that statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is carried out by contractors to university standards and represents value for money. These appointments will focus on mechanical services contracts. Must be good on MS Office Depending and also internal systems, there may be opportunity, if you wish, to progress your career in future.
It’s a varied role where you’ll also have the opportunity to be out in the field carrying audits on the contractors and support to university staff and contractors and writing up reports with your findings and recommendations on service continuity issues. You’ll also assist with the development of procedures designed to improve the operation of contracted services and be comfortable with the admin side of the role, maintaining records and documentation.
You will have previously worked within the building services sector, including commercial, industrial and domestic equipment, where you have undertaken mechanical installation/maintenance works. You will have experience of managing contractors and staff with the ability to assess problems, propose solutions and then mobilise resources, expertise and contractors to resolve complex problems.

Electrical Services Officer
We are looking to appoint an Electrical Services Officer who will play a key role to the running of the Electrical Services section of our Maintenance department
Salary up to £44,263 per annum plus a generous benefits package including 42 days leave (including bank holidays and customary days)
As an Electrical Services Officer, you will lead a team to assist in the management of the Electrical Services Section with regard to maintenance of electrical services systems. To ensure that all statutory maintenance requirements are completed and documented and that planned and reactive maintenance is delivered in accordance with the university service level agreements.
As a technical expert in your trade(s) specialism, you enjoy assessing problems, providing solutions and mobilising resources and expertise to implement solutions to complex electrical problems. You’ll also be comfortable with the admin side of being a manager – keeping records/documentation up to date, writing reports, having input into the budget. You will be a committed, friendly, team player who is keen to progress.
You’ll have experience in the electrical services industry and a recognised electrical apprentice background or equivalent.
